Translate a book into your desired language using Google gemini app
I have the book The Analysis of Mind by Bertrand Russell, which I bought in 2010 or 2011. The sentence structure used in it is very difficult. There are also many English words whose meanings I don't understand. Even if I were born in England with English as my mother tongue, I might understand the vocabulary and the difficult sentence structures, but even then, I wouldn't understand the actual meaning or explanation of the sentences. This is because the subject matter discussed in that book is just that difficult. Therefore, I have left that book in a corner for 15 years.
I thought about translating that book into Tamil using the Google Gemini app. I figured I would try reading it even if I didn't fully grasp the explanations. Below are the details I learned by asking Gemini AI and observing how it works.
There are 3 cases regarding translating a book in English(or any other language) to tamil(or to your desired language) using google Gemini app.
Case 1- take photo of each page of a book separately using Android phone's camera or take photo using below given ocr apps:
The OCR feature (you can just ask Gemini AI what OCR means) is inbuilt in the Google Gemini app. Take a photo of a page of the book using your Android phone's camera. Go to the "Files" folder on your phone and simply name it P1 (P1 means page 1). Give that single page (P1) to Gemini through the "attach file" option. Then, tell it to translate it into Tamil without leaving out a single word. It won't miss a single word.
A note:
Don't provide multiple pages at once. Gemini has a character limit for each response it generates.
If you want, you can take photos of all the pages of the book—or say, 50 pages—one after another using your Android phone camera. Immediately rename them p1, p2, etc., create a folder on your phone with the book's name, and place p1, p2, etc., inside it. After finishing that task, you can provide P1 (page 1), P2 (page 2), and so on, one by one to the Google Gemini app and ask it to translate them into your desired language.
If you don't want to use your Android phone's camera you can use these apps too.

It doesn't matter whether you perform OCR and send it as text or simply attach the page as a normal image.
Case 2- if you have pdf of a book and if you want to translate each of its page into your desired language below are the 3 ways:
If you have the PDF file of that book, you won't have the trouble of taking photos of each page. There are 3 easy ways to provide pages from that PDF to the Google Gemini app:
Method 1 in case 2- Uploading the PDF file directly (avoid this way. In this way google gemini app gives only summary of the page in tamil translation):
You can attach the full PDF file in the Google Gemini app. Click the "plus" (+) or "paper clip" icon in the chat bar. Select the PDF file on your mobile. Once the file is uploaded, command Google Gemini AI: "Translate the 12th page (or whichever page you need) of this into your desired language without leaving a single line."
But when I tried this method, Gemini did not translate it fully; it only gave a summary. So, this method didn't work well. You can try it if you want.
Method 2 in case 2- Taking a screenshot and sending (in this way google gemini gives app full tamil translation. But this way takes more time of you):
If you don't want to upload the PDF:
Open that PDF on your mobile and go to the required page. Take a screenshot of that page.
To take screenshot press volume button and power button at the same time.
Upload that image to the Google Gemini app. Ask Google gemini to translate it into your desire language without leaving even a single word. Gemini ai will translate it.
In this method, Gemini will translate fully. However, operating this way takes a lot of time.
Method 3 in case 2- copy- paste(best way. In this way Google gemini gives full tamil translation and also in this way you need to spend less time and less energy):
If you can copy a particular page in that pdf copy it. Paste it in Google gemini app. Ask it to translate into your desired language without leaving even a single word. It will translate.
A note regarding copying from pdf and pasting in Google gemini app:

Consider the chapter 1 in that pdf.
It starts on page number 22.
Consider this page number 22 in that pdf. Copy it and paste it in gemini app. Note this. While copying don't fully copy page number 22. In that page copy only upto the last sentence which ends with a fullstop. (It may have 3 words as remaining or even 3 lines as remaining in that page. The 3 remaining words doesn't end with a full stop. Its continuation will be in page 23. Don't copy the 3 remaining words or 3 remaining lines now for translation.)
Give the copied content upto the last sentence in page 22 having a full stop for tamil translation.
Gemini will translate it into tamil. Copy and paste it in an email draft.
Then for next translation copy the remaining 3 words or 3 lines..leave them in the sending box in gemini app.
Then go to Page 23 in the pdf.
Do what is said for page 22.
I mean in page 23 copy upto the last sentence having a full stop. Paste this along with the already pasted remaining things from page 22 in sending box in gemini app.
Now ask gemini to translate in Tamil without leaving even a single line.
It will translate it into tamil.
Copy and paste that translation in email draft.
Repeat this until chapter 1 ends.
Repeat this until the books ends(the pdf of the book has 15 chapters.)
Case 3- pdf available online:

Pdf of books like the analysis of mind by bertrand Russell are available freely in internet. Don't ask gemini to find its pdf and translate its pages one by one. I tried. It made mistakes. Avoid that way.
Also the pdf of analysis of mind is in public domain. Gemini ai has no legal restriction for a book which entered public domain. But if a book is under copyright protection and if it has not entered the public domain google gemini will not translate it .
Final note 1:
Google Gemini told me about apps like Smart Book (Bilingual Reading) app, Google Lens, Google Translate app, and the DeepL app Translator. I tried just Google Lens. You cannot read a whole book using that at all. It is only useful for finding the Tamil meaning of a single English (or foreign) word you don't understand, or to know the translation of a single sentence. I need to try apps like DeepL in the future.
Final note 2:
Google Gemini app will translate books or pdf of books which have entered public domain. Google gemini app will not translate a book or pdf of a book which is under copyright. Because such books has not entered public domain.

In the tamil translation given by gemini app if you have doubts regarding any word or any sentence ask your doubt on google gemini app. It will give you answers.
