waterfall number 12 in the list below-12. palaruvi-on the way- photo got from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSQM44i5OWM

7 prenotes:

1st prenote:

visit maps.google.com to know the route from a starting point 'A' to a destination point 'B'. You can also note the distance(in km) in between them. Using maps.google.com you can draw a complete map for the route of going to waterfalls mentioned below in a paper. You can get the distance in km in between 2 places. (You can also use Google maps app which can be gotten from google play store)

2nd prenote:

1/6= rank 1 out of 6 ranks= very very mustly seen
2/6= rank 2 out of 6 ranks= very  mustly seen
3/6= rank 3 out of 6 ranks=mustly seen
4/6= rank 4 out of 6 ranks= good
5/6= rank 5 out o 6 ranks= timepass
6/6= rank 6 out of 6 ranks= waste

I haven'tput the rank to all of the waterfalls mentioned below as I
haven'tvisited all of them or as I haven't  even seen all of their photos in google.

3rd prenote:

The waterfall coming in 1st rank is highlighted in green colour. The waterfalls coming in 2nd and 3rd rank are highlighted in red colour. You must visit the waterfalls mentioned below which come in the 1st rank, 2nd rank and 3rd rank compulsorily(they are highlighted either in green colour or in red colour).

4th prenote:

June, july, August, september, october and November are the seasons in which waterfalls flow down in tamilnadu. In June and july there is less amount of water flow in the waterfalls. But in August and September there is much amount of flow in the waterfalls. In November if there is heavy rain waterfalls flow down heavily. If not the amount of water flow in the waterfalls in tamilnadu reduces. At some times in december or in january there will be less amount of water falling in these waterfalls.

So August and September are the perfect months to see the waterfalls in tamilnadu state, which is in the southern part of India.

5th prenote:

waterfalls which needs trekking of 1 to 4 hours in the hills or forests are marked by underline. And the word 'NEEDS TREKKING' is written before them.

6th prenote:

Photos of the waterfalls which come in the 2nd and 3rd rank are given below. some photos belong to waterfalls which come in other ranks. Before the photos of every waterfalls a number is given. this number denotes the number of it in the above waterfalls name list.

7th prenote:

the photos given below are not taken by me. they belong to some other persons who write in their blogs. Through google images I got these photos. For some of the images i have given the link name from which i got that photos. For many other photos i couldn't able to give their original link. I'm sorry for that. I missed to save my notepad file in which I had pasted their links.

waterfalls near tirunelveli:
6. manimuthar falls(மணிà®®ுத்தாà®±ு à®…à®°ுவி) (rank 6/6)
tirunelveli--->ambasamudram--->manimuthar village--4km by walk(or catch a bus runs which runs only 3 times per day to manjolai via manimuthar falls)---->manimuthar falls

route

tirunelveli--->ambasamudram--->manimuthar village--4km by walk(or catch a bus runs which runs only 3 times per day to manjolai via manimuthar falls)---->manimuthar falls---22km---->manjolai hill station----10km nallamukku------4km---ooththu------6km->kuthiravetti grass hill top

Note that Government bus run only upto ooththu. Note that wild dogs are present in large number in manjolai hill station.

a one more road branching from nallamukku is kothaiyaru road. This kothaiyaru is a beautiful area as i saw in the photos available in google. There is a naturally made golf ground too is present in kakachi near nallamukku.

manjolai hill station is not a tourist spot. it is a reserved tiger forest area where tea estates are owned by private companies. If you get forest department permission you can go there by your private vehicle. if you don't return before 7pm you will be arrested by forest department. One person told me that if we go by government bus upto ooththu there is no need to get forest department permission. I'm not sure about his words. There is a government bus running from tirunelveli to ooththtu. It starts at early morning 2.30pm in the tirunelveli new bus stand. It will go upto ooththtu. Kuthiraveti grass hill top lies 6km above ooththu. You need to walk else you need to go by your private vehicle. Walking is not safe. Bacause there are lot of wild dogs in that area as i read somewhere in a blog.

see video of boating in karayar dam(காà®°ையாà®°் அணை) upto panatheertham falls in the video below

11. needs trekkings of 20 minutes-then aruvi(honey falls-
தேன் à®…à®°ுவி)  in kutrallam(even though many falls are here only thaen aruvi(honey falls) is the best. but permission restricted) (rank 2/6)

also i missed to tell 2 more waterfalls near tirunelveli.

nei aruvi and gundar falls near tenkasi.

tenkasi------10km---->gundar dam---1km--->nei aruvi---above nei auvi----3.5km--->gundar falls.

both nei aruvi(நெய் à®…à®°ுவி) and gundar falls(குண்டாà®°் à®…à®°ுவி) are very small waterfalls. but the forest area and walking in the forest stream surrounding area is beautiful.

upto gundar dam only vehicles are allowed. later you are allowed to walk upto nei aruvi on foot.
above nei aruvi u are not permitted to walk. you need to get private jeeps.

if u get jeep from gundar dam upto gundar waterfalls(which is 4.5km) the cost is rs2000(in 2018).
even if a single person gets into the jeep the cost is 2000rupees. the same 2000rs is for taking many persons in the jeep. don't worry. even if u go there alone u can get people to share the money with you.
if u want to go only upto nei aruvi(which is just 1km from gundar dam and on the way to gundar waterfall) the jeep cost is rs400(in 2018).

(எலிவால் à®…à®°ுவி), 4hour trek from manjalar dam in the forest near devadanapatti village, inbetween madurai and theni, height is 972 meter. my rank is 2/6)

my personal suggestion to you is "don't go to rat tail falls alone as it needs a trekking of 3 to 4 hours deep within the forest. Go with some other persons. But also don't avoid to visit it because of fear of the trekking in the wild".

19. kumbakarai falls
(குà®®்பக்கரை à®…à®°ுவி), 9km from periyakulam,(one bus is for every 4 hours only from periyakulam bus stand. we can trek to kodaikanal from here) (rank 5/6)(the waterfalls is very very small but the place is beautiful)

to the left of the entrance gate of the agayagangai waterfalls there is a stream which is having a beautiful unnamed waterfalls. It is not sitraruvi(mini falls). I'm not talking about sitraruvi. The unnamed waterfalls which I'm now talking actually lies next after to that sitraruvi. you have to walk on the slope which is on the right side of the sitraruvi for just 5 minutes. then u can see that unnamed waterfalls. to see it from its foot u have to cross the stream from the right side to its left side. 61. gavi waterfalls in gavi hill station in kerala. (rank 2/6)

how to go to gavi from tamilnadu? or way to go to gavi from tamilnadu

from tamilnadu u can reach gavi via batlagundu---->theni--->kambam----->kumili------>vandiperiyar----27km--->gavi
gavi hill station is under reserved forest area. so no private vehicles are allowed. if u want to go to gavi u should take a ticket for rupees thousand per head in kumili(ask local people to tell where to get the ticket). stay the night in a lodge. the next day only you can go to gavi using that ticket. u can get a jeep. they will ask rs2000 rupees. or u can use a cheaper mode of travel. there is a kerala government bus going in between kumili and pathanamthitta via gavi. u can travel using it. it start very early in the morning from kumily bus stand. after visiting pathanamthitta via gavi it returns to gavi at 2'o clock in the afternoon. use it to return to kumily.

if you want contact the jeep driver majo who is in thekkady which is 10 minutes from kumily. His mobile number is

majo- +919446339427

see photos of gavi in this link

the places to be seen in kumily are othakaththalamaedu, pandikuzhi, chellar kovil falls and even each and every lane. If u have your private vehicle go to the above said places by asking the way from local people. Don't get in a jeep. The jeep drivers will ask you to get you there. they will pluck nearly 1500rs from you. I can say that you can even walk from kumily bus stand to the above said places by asking the way from local people if u get there at early morning.

thekkady is just 15 minutes from kumily. the fee to ride in the boat in the lake is rs 150 per head.
